-   WHAT WE DO  -

The Buffalo-Yeongcheon Sister City Association was founded with the aim of sharing   culture, education and commercial opportunities with Yeongcheon, South Korea. In the interest of world peace, the mission of Sister Cities International was to pair cities around the world in the hopes that if people truly knew and understood one another, they’d be less likely to fight.

Korea and the U.S. have long been good friends. The U.S. along with the U.N. coalition of nations fought to protect South Korean sovereignty in the Korean War from 1950-1953. Since Armistice was declared with North Korea, South Korea has been a stalwart unwavering partner in maintaining peace in North Asia.

There are many people in the U.S. who do not understand the brilliance and complexities of Korean history and culture in contrast with other Asian cultures so we seek to highlight not only Korean culture and history but also the accomplishments and hard work of Korean Americans living and working in and around the Western New York Region.
